Why is it banned to walk across the bridge? How are the poor people supposed to reach the other shore without a car?
I am surprised that so many people attempt suicide by jumping from the two bridges...I would presume that most would attempt from either bridge, but not both...
I have heard that the Freeman Fox design of this bridge was not built, and that the design that was built is correctly attributed to Dr. William Brown of Brown Beech. The only real similarity between the two designs is that they are steel suspension bridges. Dr. Brown moved the towers back to their built locations, where they are easier to build and have no structure below the bridge deck. This resulted in a longer span but lower construction cost. While the original designer should be acknowledged, so should Dr. Brown.
The dimensions of the bridge are probably wrong. I've just travel to Turkey and it's obvious that the Second Bosphorus Bridge is smaller than the first one. In en-Wiki, they're both with 1510 m long and 64 m high. In tr-Wiki, the lengths are respectively 1560 m and 1090 m. Thanks. 200.169.29.70 ( talk) 13:17, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
