I think both the BCGNIS and the Akriggs are being disingenuous (actually BCGNIS just quotes the Akriggs so it's not their fault) or at best coy. "Fanny" is a well-known British-ism for either a lady's behind or something a bit more explicit, and it was current in Vancouver's day, though also yes used as a personal name or nickname; my own great-grandmother was a Fanny.....but given the pairing of naming of this island with Henry Island, it occurred to me that "John Henry" has a specific slang connotation as well....not like either Capt Richards or Capt Vancouver to be vulgar, but it does have me wondering if that's the unknown connection between the two names. Hello :) I live in fanny bay and I thought there should be a "Notable people" section to the artical becasue it exits in other articles of towns and city's but for some reason not in this one for fanny bay. I joined wikapedia to add some people I thought where worth noting that live in fanny bay. Artist and such but I've been having truble doing that. So my suggestion is to add a notable people section to the fanny bay artical (sorry for my bad grammar and English spelling ) Arreis222222222 ( talk) 03:45, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
