The common convention in Arabic is when both the person's name and the father's name is given, to use 'bin' (e.g. Faisal bin Hamad, that is, Faisal, son of Hamad), but when a person is referred to by the patronymic, to use 'ibn' (e.g. Ibn Hamad, that is, the son of Hamad). I do not know how to edit the title; I would appreciate if someone more knowledgeable could do this. Mideastwhoswho ( talk) 12:52, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Faisal bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa → Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa – The articles on his father and his grandfather use only the first name followed by the father's name. Векочел ( talk) 22:09, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
