This article is written in
American English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, defense, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other
varieties of English. According to the
relevant style guide, this should not be changed without
broad consensus.
The Eugene Gilbert template might need some restructuring as far as his military accomplishments since I had to remove it's military designation to accept the photograph. The photograph shows him in a rare instance without his mustache and looks to be a passport photo, something he would need in his pre-war years flying from country to country.
