Teaching ?
I read in the entry for
Blundells School that Gill is listed among "Notable former masters", but that fact is not mentioned in Gill's biography. Does anyone have information about this?
JMF - First off, thanks for an exemplary example of how to handle a highly controversial subject in a comprehensive but sensitive way. I think the article strikes a very good balance between detail and discretion. Can I also ask a couple of questions? I came to Gill's page via the
Johnston Monument, which I created to fill a gap,
here. The Johnston Monument appears to have very little coverage online, e.g. I can find no image beyond the one in the
Historic EnglandHeritage at Risk Register. Do any of the book sources on Gill, which I'm guessing you have, make any mention of it? I'm also interested to untangle the links with
Edward Johnston and the Johnston family, within the bounds of
Wikipedia:No original research. How, for example, is Edward related to Geoffrey Stewart Johnston, whose memorial it is? And is he also related to
Harry Johnston, commemorated by Gill in another church? No worries if you can't help, but many thanks in anticipation.

wp:Good article status. Sorry nothing I have goes that wide. I borrowed McCarthy from Archive.org (have you tried
https://archive.org/search?query=%22Eric+Gill%22 ? Quite a few books available to borrow there that may help.)
