Idon't know but I doubt this would be a stub. Its too regular to be one.( TougHHead 02:00, 14 November 2007 (UTC)) reply

'One of the initial stages of defending against a bushfire is dubbed the "ember attack", in which embers will bombard the house, starting small fires in wooden structures'

And how would bombarding a house with embers and thereby start small fires in the wooden structures, defend against a bushfire? It seems rather counter-productive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.214.31.205 ( talk) 14:36, 12 June 2009 (UTC) reply

Defending AGAINST the "ember attack" is part of a bushfire defense strategy. Also note that it is not defending bushfires, but defending AGAINST bushfires. Roidroid --- ( talk) 11:04, 11 December 2009 (UTC) reply

Disambiguation

It seems like a disambiguation page should be created, as the "see other" section at the top is quite a bit longer than it needs to be. It might be better replaced with just "For other uses, see Ember (disambiguation)" or something to that effect. Ideas? — 烏Γ ( kaw at me), 06:04, 6 February 2011 (UTC) reply

Merge with Smouldering?

This article covers the same phenomenon as the Smouldering page. I don't see the value of having separate, less complete articles on the same thing. GBMorris ( talk) 11:42, 11 November 2016 (UTC) reply

Well, they are not the same thing (an ember is a material object, while smouldering is a process, and either can exist independent of other); therefore, if the two articles contain largely the same amount of material, then the articles need to be improved, not merged. Clarification on "Sparks"

Should the clarification that sparks are airborne embers occur earlier in the article? The image of a bushfire with "embers" flying off seems confusing without this context. YellowBlack ( talk) 03:07, 22 February 2021 (UTC) reply

Done. (I've reworded the caption; it was improper usage anyway: sparks are not called embers. It would be like having a picture of a snow storm that's captioned "ice cubes falling from the sky").  ;) Firejuggler86 ( talk) 21:19, 12 June 2021 (UTC) reply
