The band came out and we did some work in May of that year at Electro-Vox, which is now gone. It was one of the more iconic studios of late. A lot of producers used to love working there, Frank Ocean made some records there.

I still cannot confirm this, but the studio indeed has not have been credited on any new albums since 2021 (except John Cale's new album, which likely used the studio in the years past.
[1]). I would say it is likely the GQ quotation was correct.
