Thanks for pointing out this article, I had not encountered it before. "Dynamical Simulation," as it is called in this article, is a subset of dynamic simulations. Though I believe the more common term is Multi-Body Dynamics simulation. Dynamic simulation includes all kinds of simulations that change with time, the article you mention is one example of it.
