Does anyone else think this should be its own article? Cjrother 02:59, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
So, he was made the Baron of Strathcona and Mount-Royal. Where the hell is "Strathcona"? Is it an old name for Stadacona, the Iroquois settlement that became the site of Quebec City?
(Perhaps Strathcona/Stadacona represent English/French versions of the original Iroquois word, similar to Ottawa/Outaouais.)
There are many places named Strathcona in Western Canada, but they were all named after Lord Strathcona and obviously aren't the original of his title.
If "Strathcona" really does refer to the site of Quebec City, then effectively "Baron of Strathcona and Mount-Royal" translates into "Baron of Quebec City and Montreal".
I feel like the article should explain this. Scientivore 20:06, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
