Do we really need the above quote
in the article? The profanity isn't even my main objection (although I do object to it in this context). The quote is probably taken out of context, too. It is an (emotional) attempt by the accused individual to defend themselves. The way it is presented here is condemning, and unencyclopedic (at least until the accused is convicted of arson).

The point is that I can totally see myself saying the same thing, if I were (wrongly) accused of arson. The only thing it would show is that I'd be in distress. If the quote is given here to illustrate the mental state of the accused, or whether they did or didn't do it, then IMHO the quote is misplaced.

@
Activist: Oswald is a curious example, as the
WP:LIVE policy doesn't apply to him (he was shot before he could face trial). Maynard is very much alive, and I hope it stays that way. Until he is convicted, his biography is of no interest to me.

The first sentence should be amended to reflect the fire being present in Tehama County as well.
Why I merged the Devil's Punchbowl article into this one.
First off, I went to school in Quincy. I worked in Canyon Dam and lived in Greenville. But the Devil's Punchbowl page is unnecessary. Everything said there is said here. This fire was huge and its impact was huge and terrifying. To us. But not so for the rest of the world and we need to fight for that perspective.
