What has happened with Disney Toon America? The article says that Disney Toon Australia was closed down, but doesn't say anything about the American version. Or was it simply poorly worded so as to look like the phrase only pertained to the Australian studios, but actually addressed both? -- Matt T. 08:50, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

There is more on Disney closing mentioned here closing the last of the 2-D animation. Pixar and 3-d animation are now the standard for animation in the USA. One of the last Disney units called Circle Seven Productions was set to compete with PIXAR and closed after the purchase by Disney.
I can't find a link to it, but the history of the name circle 7 is the street where the studio was located. Circle 7 was the name for in-house production for owned and operated ABC television before purchase by Capital Cities Broadcasting which later sold to Walt Disney Company.
Each of the Stations have the logo of the Circle 7 including WABC-TV New York, WLS-TV Chicago, KABC-LosAngeles, and others they owned at the time. If you look at the logo of the station, it is easy to see the source of the name. All station news anchors were required to wear matching Circle 7 blazers. Later replaced with a lapel pin sometime in the 1980's.

The article seems to be saying that DisneyToon Studios has been making films since 1990, despite having not been founded until 2003. I think that some of the article needs to be made clearer so that this is not the interpretation. Alphius 15:22, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
The page for House of Cool lists Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas as part of Red Rover Studios' filmography. Should it still be listed on the DisneyToon page? Was it made by DisneyToon, or Red Rover, or both? Web wonder ( talk) 03:45, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
Dinosaur, listed as the 18th film from DisneyToon Studios, was actually created by Walt Disney Animation Studios and is considered canon in their list of 51 full-length animated features.
The article for Dinosaur states "Dinosaur is a 2000 American computer-animated film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures on May 19, 2000, and is the 39th film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.151.150.75 ( talk) 20:54, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm noticing you're making a number of edits to articles reverting the name of DisneyToon Studios changes back to Walt Disney Television Animation. Also, you're adding information suggesting that released by Paramount Pictures will have a hand in the upcoming feature-length animated movie The Princess and the Frog II (produced by Nickelodeon Studios). Can you provide some reliable proof of these edits? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.147.198.171 ( talk) 03:56, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Wikitables are now smart enough to recognize a date in the [Month Day, Year] format when sorting, but including a ref with the date confuses them enough that the behavior is erratic. I've moved the refs for dates to other columns. Alternately, a new column could be created for refs, but that seems like a lot of work to go through for such a trivial issue. Template:dts was (surprisingly) causing the same issue, and the templates documentation specifically cautions that its not needed in many cases. I believe its main use is for dates before 100CE, which obviously doesn't apply here, so I've removed that as well. Grayfell ( talk) 20:05, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

I've noticed that Disney websites have consistently referred to the studio as "Disneytoon Studios" since 2016. The article probably should be moved to a new name to match the new spelling where the "t" is lowercased. -- Coolcaesar ( talk) 07:13, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Prior to today, I could not find any founding date for Disney MovieToons/Disney Video Premiere/Special unit except for the year of its first credited movie, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990). The animation for this movie came from the Walt Disney Feature Animation, France which was founded in 1986 as Brizzi Films and was purchase by Disney in 1989. Disney Animation Australia (DAA), was also know as DisneyToon Studios Australia, but I never found anything on Disney MovieToons Australia, (full legal name was Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia) Pty. Limited) was founded in 1988. Some editor had changed the beginning year to 1988 on the DisneyToon Studios article which I changed back. Prior to my unravling of the various Disney animation production units, the Australia unit was mixed up with the main DisneyToon Studios. These are the new sources stating 1988 with the studio's closure:
Now are they picking up the incorrect year from the error introduced in the article or do they have information/records that confirm a 1988 founding year? Spshu ( talk) 19:34, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
Dumbo II was originally released as a direct-to-video 2D-animated film produced by DisneyToon Studios in June 2002, because Dumbo II was cancelled on January 31, 2002 and DisneyToon Studios was closed down on June 28, 2018, that have a deal with Walt Disney Animation Studios to created and produced the theatrical releases of upcoming traditionally-animated sequels in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.64.247.95 ( talk) 21:20, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

What happened to this movie? There is no longer any mention of it in the article or in the feature films table. I think it is a DisneyToon Studios movie and should be in that table, and the article itself ( Atlantis: Milo's Return) mentions it as being by DisneyToon Studios. Furthermore, there are only 46 movies in the table, whereas the text at the top of the article says there are 47 movies in total, so this is probably the discrepancy. What happened to this movie? If features three unaired episodes of The Legend Of Tarzan. This is supposed to include this: Tarzan & Jane. I think this should be included in this list. Disneytoon Studios had involvement with this film as at the time it was owned by Walt Disney Television Animated since it was released in 2002. @ DoctorHver:, Not sure why the film table was split between theatrical and DTV (MovieToons only so far)? The table is sortable, so if you want to see a split between the two release types (or franchises, etc.) just click on the header. Of course, I see now an issue with the headers in the sort, which can be fixed by making it a column. Spshu ( talk) 15:38, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
I found a source that says that the DIC Entertainment produced movie Madeline: Lost in Paris was going to be released as a Disney Video Premieres product when it was first released.
Does this mean that Disney Video Premieres was just a label for Direct-to-Video produced material or something? Here is the source, by the way. [1]

Either change 47 feature films to 46 since there are only 46 movies in the table, or add Atlantis: Milo's Return as it is a Disneytoon Studios Animation. Dylancyte ( talk) 13:05, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
