I have removed the podcast episode table as unencyclopedic detail. It is more appropriate for a fandom wiki or personal website. Wikipedia is
not a directory for all possible related media. ♠

Below message copied verbatim from my talk page to centralize the discussion here:
Hi there, I'm still fairly new here (although this account is a
sockpuppet for safety/privacy reasons).
You removed a section I added here:
[1] as
WP:NOTDIRECTORY. (I re-added without realizing, when I couldn't figure out why my simultaneous edit wasn't saving, and haven't had time to respond until now, sorry.)
I don't understand the issue with the (tidy and organized, I think) list of related podcast episodes. All episodes listed are directly related to the disappearance of this girl (20 years ago, next week). Wikipedia has plenty of lists of episodes of things. The list is non-exhaustive; only some of the more notable, relevant contributions to public information about the case. Each one included provides further useful information to the reader. I could rewrite it in paragraph form listing the points of view and information from each episode but it would be more difficult to read.
Podcasts are especially relevant to this girl's disappearance since popularity of podcasts have driven the police to take action on the case after 18 years, leading to more ground searches[1], and the worldwide popularity of these podcasts are likely to lead to further action and/or expose a lack of investigative response. Podcasts also led to a large reward being offered on the case.[2] Inclusion of an episode list on Wikipedia will surely further increase the attention to the case... maybe leading to the case being solved and a murderer being convicted... this is especially important right now at this 20 year milestone as the case is about to get a lot more attention.
Also, maybe you could give me a break? Maybe I'm pushing the standards a bit on formatting and such but it's for a good cause and the article is likely to have an impact, and hurts nobody except, potentially, those responsible for the girl's disappearance (which could also lead to positive publicity for Wikipedia). I'll assume I'm okay to re-add the section now, especially since it's time-sensitive due to upcoming events and attention to the case. Any advice or edits you have on how to make the article easier to read while still including all important information) would be appreciated.
I just don't see how the table is encyclopedic content. Obviously the content of those podcasts is related to the subject, but that does not necessarily make the table itself suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia.
WP:LINKFARM or
the external links guideline may have been a better link to point you to than
WP:NOTDIRECTORY - the links guideline, under links to avoid #11, lists blogs and personal websites, and although podcasts are not listed explicitly, I think many editors would view them in a similar fashion.
I understand your interest in promoting awareness of the case, but we're not here to
right great wrongs. We don't promote causes, we don't seek to have a real-world impact - that's the province of journalists and activists. As an encyclopedia, we are a
tertiary source - we summarize what has been written in reliable secondary sources. In this case, some of the podcasts (Casefile and Island Crime) have had an impact that has been described in reliable secondary sources. The article reflects that in prose, as is appropriate. The table on the other hand is not.
To be honest the entire article is bloated and could use a trim. It's over 110,000 bytes, which is huge for an article on a narrow topic like this. For comparison, that's over twice the size of
Murder of Yvonne Fletcher (a
featured article), nearly four times the size of
Murder of Dwayne Jones (another FA), the same size as world-famous serial murder case the
Moors murders, and fully half the size of the entire summary of
World War II. I understand that you want to promote this case and solve it, but we're not the appropriate venue for that. A lot of this detail needs to either be removed or condensed, and there are way too many tables with extraneous deatil - the search locations table, the RCMP search table, the record of police interaction and table (some of which may be a
biography of living persons issue if it would allow for identification of the uncharged and unconvicted suspect, under
WP:BLPCRIME), the House of Commons debate table...and that's at a quick glance.
Please don't continue to re-add the section before this discussion reaches a consensus - that could be construed as
edit warring and is generally frowned upon. Please also consider trying to condense some of the detail rather than continuing to expand the article further. Right now it's just way too much, and the podcast table is only the tip of the iceberg. ♠
