Most of the plot details have been here for a couple weeks now, so can't have been taken solely from the live stream today. Many came from announcement trailer I believe. --

The title of the character 'Lord Shaxx' is incorrect as his full stated name is 'Lord John Shaxx', I noticed this when reading and cross referenced the fandom wiki and imdb to confirm.

I added neutrality tags to this article. This page is missing very key criticisms and recent controversies regarding the game that have been covered by reliable sources (i.e. the whole fallout over balancing, Curse of Osiris, Activision "taking away" content from paying customers, etc.) ViperSnake151 Talk 15:06, 9 December 2017 (UTC)reply
@
ViperSnake151: I don't disagree with what you're saying but I think the tags are a bit misapplied. The lead had a portion not supported by prose... I removed it. After that, the real issue is we don't have a reception section at all. None of the reviews currently are in the prose. --

I mentioned in an edit summary in the past that we need to add a real reception section. I know I personally haven't had the time the past few months to go through a bunch of reviews and write an entire section. I've got a little more time on my hands at the moment, so I may try to start something if no one else does. --
JDC808♫23:04, 9 December 2017 (UTC)reply
Real reception section added. I'm sure there's more that can be added, but the article now has something it's lacked for three months. --

I also need to say that Destiny 2 can just be categorized as Flop: It currently has barely 4k Viewers on Twitch (all Channels that Streaming this Game currently together), many people that have been hard-core Fans of the first Destiny are just disappointed in several points from this Game. There are even Meme's that retitle the Game into "Deadstiny". The current version of the reception paragraph assumes that it's an success, with all due respect is not nearly matching the Reality. --

The reception section is based on reviews from when the game released, not based on how many players are still playing the game 6 months after it released. --
JDC808♫02:23, 14 February 2018 (UTC)reply
Retrospective reviews can be added, but most publications don't bother writing them. Any news about it being a "dead game" must come from reliable sources and not the fandom on Twitch. ~

Sales, Music, Osiris Comics
I am a student editor for my English 1102 class and after reviewing the article I had found some information that could benefit the page as a whole. As my subject states, I would like to add some facts and details about the music in Destiny 2, information about the curse of Osiris comics, and some sales numbers and facts for when the game was released. I want to make sure that this information is useful for the page and if there is anything else I can add for the page while I do this.

Please add this following information to the "Post-release content" section above this sentance: (y) Bungie announced the game's second expansion, Warmind, on April 11, 2018 during a small update, with a full reveal stream coming April 24. The expansion will release on May 8, 2018.
(x)March 27th Bungie announced the "go faster patch, 1.1.4" This patch made the game much more similar to the original Destiny. Movement speed and time to kill were modified and made the game play more fluid. The following Iran Banner was also switched to six VS six instead of the four VS four format of Destiny 2.
Hunters continue to have access to the Solar-based "Gunslinger" sub-class of the original, along with its "Golden Gun" super, and the Void-based "Nightstalker" sub-class from the original's The Taken King expansion, along with its "Shadowshot" super, both with gameplay changes. The Hunter's new sub-class for Destiny 2 is the Arc-based "Arcstrider", replacing the "Bladedancer" sub-class of the original. Arcstrider's super, "Arc Staff", focuses on an electrified staff and a large amount of rapid mobility. Warlocks continue to have access to the Void-based "Voidwalker" sub-class of the original, along with its "Nova Bomb" super, and the Arc-based "Stormcaller" sub-class from The Taken King, along with its "Stormtrance" super, both with several changes. The Warlock's new sub-class for Destiny 2 is the Solar-based "Dawnblade" with a super called "Daybreak", replacing the "Sunsinger" sub-class of the original. The Daybreak super allows the player to make Solar Light blades to strike enemies from mid-air, similar to the Titan's "Sunbreaker" sub-class with its super. Titans continue to have access to the Arc-based "Striker" sub-class and its "Fists of Havoc" super of the original, and the Solar-based "Sunbreaker" from The Taken King, along with its "Hammer of Sol" super, both with significant gameplay changes. The Titan's new sub-class for Destiny 2 is the Void-based "Sentinel", replacing the "Defender" sub-class of the original, although the Sentinel sub-class can create the Defender's Ward of Dawn shielding bubble if this option is selected. Sentinel's super, "Sentinel Shield", allows the player to summon a shield that can block enemy fire and be used offensively.
I would rewrite this section. It reads like a list in prose form, which character class with what abilities. Not every class and subclass has to be mentioned. Examples of how the gameplay differentiates class by class is more informative. I'd do it myself, but I'm not familiar with the game.
soetermans.

It actually was originally a bullet list (a la the
original game) for each class, but there was an editor (don't remember exactly who without looking back at the edit history) who kept arguing that what you quoted was better. I still disagree with that, but I got tired of trying to argue with them. I'll take a stab at it, and put it back as a bulleted list as it originally was. --

Hi all.
Would like to request an edit to add that the publishing rights to Destiny 2 were claimed by bungie, and are working through a transition period.
Full details can be seen on the official bungie website

With the release of the last four seasons, Undying, Dawn, Worthy, and Arrivals, shouldn’t there be something about them on the main page? They have drastically changed some parts of the game, even a little note just saying “After release, seasonal content rolled out every three months.”
The Shadowkeep page does have all this information, and goes into great detail, but these season packs aren’t really related to shadowkeep, aside from Undying, which tied right in.
A mention, yes, but not too much detail. The seasons are like mini-releases of the main release. This past year, that main release was Shadowkeep, thus the more detailed bits of these past four seasons go on that page (same with Forsaken and its Annual Pass which is currently split off but gonna be fixed). Here soon, I'm going to be going through the articles and doing a resstructuring (maybe even complete restructuring) of them to clean them up and fix these sort of issues, as well as add Reception to these past couple expansions which is currently missing. --

Incorrect info in article.
First time doing this on Wikipedia, so please inform me if I am doing anything wrong, but in one of the paragraphs, it is mentioned that Beyond Light is the first in a trilogy, but it was stated in "The State of Destiny 2021" by Joe Blackburn that they are addings a fourth expansion to this trilogy, making it not a trilogy. This fourth expansion we do not have a working title or any info about, other than it's the final one in the Light and Darkness Saga.

When Beyond Light was originally announced, it was regarded as the first in a trilogy that would follow up with Witch Queen and Lightfall. But you are right, will clarify. --

PS5 and Xbox Series X/S release date
Hello. Multiple users edited the page in the past, including myself, to change the release date to December 2020. All edits were reverted by
JDC808 on the grounds that it was "playable" in November, and then enhanced with a patch. So I want everyone's input on 9th gen versions of the game, as this wasn't a topic of actual discussion yet.
I personally think this is a clear case of backward compatibility - something never included in the infobox. It wasn't listed for PS5 or Series X/S in November (despite launching alongside new consoles),[1] so I wonder how it's different from other games with enhanced 9th gen versions, like upcoming
Cyberpunk 2077, etc. Thanks for your time.

per
MOS:VG, we don't include platforms that a game happens to be playable on due to backwards or forwards compatability, which was the state of the game when the next generation consoles were released. But as soon as bungie issued a patch to optimize the game for these platforms, that made it a new release for those. Hence the Dec 2020 release date. --

As I had previously explained in edit summaries over a year ago, Beyond Light was marketed as a launch title for the newer consoles (a launch title does not release a month after a console's launch). The enhancement patch in December 2020 was literally the same kind of thing Bungie did when they did an enhancement patch for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X back in 2016.
JDC808♫22:18, 15 February 2022 (UTC)reply
I sourced it already - it launched "alongside" new consoles, not for them. Some outlets called it a launch title, others didn't. The fact remains that it wasn't listed for PS5 on PS Store or as "Optimized for Series X/S" on Xbox Store. This is backward compatibility, and shouldn't get special treatment just because release dates aligned.

I think the consensus at
WP:VG is that backward compactibility doesn't count as a proper release. A way to handle this is to list the December release date, then use the efn note to show that the game was playable via backward compactibilty in November.
