Might want to refine names of both these articles:
Both are attributed to NDFB(S), and both involve Kokrajhar (among other places). utcursch | talk 20:40, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
Currently the article states that
and I find that the Bodos may themselves be regarded as a tribe.
Either some of this is in fact a misunderstanding, or the situation really is as confusing as it appears. Either way, It would help to know which two groups the original dispute was between. Maproom ( talk) 22:00, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
This article states that the Bodo militants are "Christians," but a related Wikipedia article reports that only 9% of the Bodo people are Christians.* I wondered about this report, in part, because these Bodo militants attacked on Christmas.
Bodo Religion

0.29%
Bodos practice Brahmoism[4] (a Hindu reform movement), Bathouism, Christianity and others. As of 2001, more than 90% of the Bodos living in Assam were believers of Bodo Brahma Dharma. However, the percentage of Christians is growing. In 1991, only 8.58% of the Bodo were Christian, but that percentage had increased to 9.40% by 2001. Similarly, the percentage of Brahmos decreased from 91.13% in 1991, to 90.31% in 2001. Only a few Bodos still believe in the Animist religion (2,478 in 1991, 141 in 2001).[5][citation needed] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:1:AE00:301:13B:DB81:6075:7047 ( talk) 22:57, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
This entry is a joke.
1. The context is not supplied. The Indian Government manipulated the NDFB, forcing a split between a compromised faction that it labels "pro-talk" and the uncompromising faction, Songbijit's; the Indians have "signed a truce" with the "pro-talk" faction as part of it's "divide & rule" strategy, and redoubled efforts to hunt down and eliminate Songbijit NDFB faction on the ground; for reasons of their own, the Indian-origin Tea Plantation tribes collaborated with the Indian military mischief against the Songbijit faction; the Songbijit faction's attack on the Tea Tribes was not random (they didn't attack the "usual suspects" the Bengali Muslims) but only the Tea Tribes, and was specific retaliation for collaborating in India's terrorism against the Songbijit Bodos.
2. The Bodos are Assam's Adivasis or Aborigines. Their victims, in this case, are legally NOT Adivasis / Aborigines. Even under Indian law, members of "Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes" are considered "Adivasis" or Aborigines only within their "home states" - that is settled law. It is malicious mischief and part of a deliberate campaign by India to set up "legitimate ground" to perpetrate Genocide against the Bodos, to claim that the Tea Plantation Tribes imported into Assam are "Adivasis" and that the Bodos are not Adivasis, that the Songbijit's faction's victims are "tribals," but the Bodos themselves are not (both are tribes, but the Bodos are indigenous to Assam, the Tea Plantation Tribes are not.)
3. The "Christianity" of the Bodos is a lie and a red herring. Only an insignificant, miniscule minority of Bodos belong to Christian denominations. It is part of the Goebbelsian propaganda of the Indian State that maligns the Bodo vs Tea Tribes quarrel as one of Christians vs non-Christians.
That said, there is no justification for either India's murderous mischief which set this whole thing off, or for the Songbijit Bodos' pogrom of the Tea Tribes (or of the previous round of Bodo pogroms on the Bengali Muslim colonists), or for the Tea Tribes retaliatory pogroms. And, taken altogether, in the historical context and considering all possibilities and probabilities, the Bodos are not justified in their ambitions for Independence. Assam can emerge independent only when its people unite among themselves and united take on India's racist & cynical colonialism. 103.23.24.33 ( talk) 05:01, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
