I propose that this article is merged into the article for
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed himself. This article is almost as long as the main one and may require reduction, but a merge could be the first step

Oppose I note two features here. First, the funeral page is not a POV-fork; rather, it is a
low-level (i.e. high-res) description of something that makes Ahmed notable. (I have opposed mergers in which POV-forks are involved (such as on the Talk:IVC page)). Second, and speaking to notability, Ahmed was the second Indian president to die in office. The first was
Zakir Hussain. Both had distinguished careers and both were pioneering Muslims. The funeral page has important information low-level information, such as the list of major foreign dignitaries at the funeral. This list would not be considered encyclopedic in a high-level (i.e. low-res) article such as
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. One of the charms of WP are the modular trapdoors that allow you to probe lesser-known details. I have no disagreement with Johnbod's support generally, but in the days of high Hindu majoritarianism in India, it is very likely that notable details, such as the dignitaries list, would be removed in the main article. The funeral page should really have been a spin-off, which it is not, but as it is here now, I'd say let it remain.

I appreciate the levels of information argument, it's just that currently the main article is quite small for someone who had a "distinguished career" and was "pioneering", which begs the question why there is need of a spin off. I think the best solution would be expansion of his own article.

Dharmadhyaksha:! I have just finished expanding the main article on Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. I think considerations of size should not matter now. My own take on this discussion is that we keep this article separately since it contains micro-level information that may not be possible to be included in the main article. Also, do dig in with edits on the main article. I'm hoping to nominate it for GA/FA status. All help and collaborations to this end this would be great. Cheers!
