Hey can we change it from draft to an article? Because I guess it is better to make it as an article. Beraniladri19 🌀🌀 ( talk) 04:44, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
This IP user 2409:4060:2103:1F40:862:CD81:59AD:7337 has been possibly using multiple IPs to place unsourced information in the meteorological history section. When I reverted it and explained why he/she/they continued to add it back in without a source. So can we make this page semi-protected? Thank you! @Hurricaneboy23
The citation is already given. The Sri Lanka Disaster Management Centre Situation Report is in the link. The data tables are in the .pdf report, which is already in the citation. Please download and check.
Also I am a bit curious to know why the words 'said' and 'affected' were edited out and replaced with to 'stated' and 'impacted'. Are 'said' and 'affected' banned words on wikipedia?
The reason the people were affected is the cyclone, where several areas were inundated with storm surges, and thousands were evacuated beforehand. The news reports are on google and mentioned elsewhere on the page by other contributors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kuthroo ( talk • contribs) 20:02, 4 December 2020 (UTC) Kuthroo ( talk) 00:15, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry forgot to sign. The casualty data questioned by Hurricaneboy23 is from the situation report of Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Centre report of 1800hours, December 04 2020 which is already cited. For the record, the total affected is 68,640 persons from 20,717 families. 57 houses have been fully damaged and 2,753 houses are partially damaged, according to the DMC report. -- Kuthroo ( talk) 00:38, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
How can the 3-minute sustained winds be more than the 1-minute sustained winds? 2003 LN6 ( talk) 02:13, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
