Every control tower I've seen (at an active airport) has had a rotating light on top, alternating white and green, but I've read that there are other color combinations that signify different things. Could someone come up with some information about this?

Oppose. In my opinion 'Control tower' is used to refer to an air traffic control tower significantly more often than any other sort of control tower - a fact that appears to be borne out by google and google news searches. A hat not (and possibly also a disambiguation page if neccessary) can be used for any other sort of control tower.

Support "Control tower" is too ambiguous, and "Air traffic control tower" is much more precise and clear. We shouldn't needlessly use shorter titles, in the same way that we spell out abreviations.

Oppose. Primary use. I don't believe that there is any question that this is the primary use. A hat note to point to other uses is all that is needed.

Oppose. A Control Tower as described is the most common use of the name. Never heard of a traffic tower (or a ground traffic control tower). As suggested by Vegaswikian hat to the others.

Weak Oppose. ATC is also a common name, but CT is better. FLSIM usually uses ATC.

Strong support, per YeshuaDavid. "Control tower" may generally refer to this, but "air traffic control tower" leaves no room for ambiguity -- 01:48, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Oppose. As per
WP:NAME, "control tower" is clearly the most common name, and the policy advises to "avoid over-precision". In its current form, the article doesn't even mention that there are any other types of control towers?
