I noticed some things missing. Typing in COM in search no longer lists this page in the search results. Also, there is no information on the new "Collegiate High School" program. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.196.156.39 ( talk) 23:10, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
To be honest, a lot of edits have occurred starting in August and happening as late as 21 September from the IP address 65.69.204.131. A whois query on the IP address confirmed the information on the talk page that it belongs to the institution that is the subject of this article. I have a sneaking suspicion that a good portion of the edits are being made by someone on their faculty or staff. Suggestions? Shawn Is Here: Now in colors 11:10, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
I am familiar with the college (would rather not say how), and I can tell you that the edits probably are being made by faculty members (probably more than one, battling over the particulars), but you must also consider the possibility that the edits are being made by students or others with access to on-campus computer labs. At any rate, I would think the more immediate and relevant concern is whether the edits reflect or display bias. A larger concern, too, is that because of repeated edits and additions inspired by passionate feelings about a recent controversy (the firing of David Michael Smith), we now have an entire section devoted to one individual that dominates and overpowers the rest of the article. I would think some editorial concision and restraint is called for, since this issue will not seem so important down the road, and it is already of very little interest to those outside the college. The encyclopedia is for the readers, not for college employees or others who want to use wikipedia's pages to rehash the particulars of a controversy and try to get "their" version down as the official record. Even if facts or quotes are sourced, it doesn't mean they belong in an encyclopedia article that is supposed to be about the college in general. If people really want specific information on David Michael Smith or this controversy, surely they can search the news archives themselves. -- 98.199.76.177 ( talk) 22:02, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
