It appeared there was consensus to merge but this was not completed. Two other problems are the name of this article "coastwise"! and the fact that "Slavery in the United States" is a large article already. If this article has any usefulness it needs to be renamed to Coastal slave trade.

"Coastwise slave trade" is the established term as you can confirm with search, and most of the specifics have been removed from
Slavery in the United States if they were ever there.
Also note the size of the article tripled since the original merge tag in 2010,
User:Parkwells adding detail and references later than their above comment initially agreeing with the merge. --
