"The Condor"? Really? Can we get a better reference for this, because I have never heard of him being called that. Tad Lincoln ( talk) 22:48, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on
Chris Sale. Please take a moment to review
my edit. If necessary, add {{

This statement is incorrect: "He is one of five players in MLB history to play the same year he was drafted.[10]" The citation does not support the sentence at all, plus Wikipedia has a page about MLB players that went straight into the pro league without having played in the minors. That list is quite long. 170.200.144.19 ( talk) 19:47, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Sale threw the first and last pitches of the 2018 World Series, which I assume must be a very rare event. He also struck out the first and last batters of the series: Brian Dozier struck out looking in the top of the 1st to begin Game 1 and Manny Machado struck out swinging in the bottom of the 9th to end Game 5. I'll see if I can find some references and historical context for these and then add to the article. -- Jameboy ( talk) 17:37, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
