Light as a Feather - 1972 or 1973? The official discography says 1973. Fredrik Johansson - talk - contribs 23:44, 27 January 2006 (UTC) It was probably recorded in 1972 and released in 1973. There are other sources besides that one. See allmusic.com --Dogru144
His new cd, also inspired by a work of L. Ron Hubbard is will be released soon. He is currently promoting it. This should be included in the article. His current quintet is called "Touchstone"
You shouldn't use the word 'current' in an encyclopaedia - this 'current' project you speak of is already dated. Corea is touring with a new group already (april 2006).
I think the Scientology reference needs to be stripped back, it's practically an advertisement for this religion/cult, one that is quite controversial and much maligned (not without due cause). Is this an item about a musician and his career? if so his religious leanings should not be given so much emphasis. Corea talks about ethics, what sort of code of ethics does "fair game" attempt to embrace: Fair Game (Scientology) Hubbard detailed his rules for attacking critics in a number of policy letters, including one often quoted by critics as "the Fair Game policy." This allowed that those who had been declared enemies of the Church, called " suppressive persons" or simply "SP," "May be deprived of property or injured by any means... May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed." (taken from HCOPL 18 Oct 67 Issue IV, Penalties for Lower Conditions )

The official SonyBMG Masterworks discography link for this artist is as follows
It (in most cases) contains a full listing of in-print CDs released on the SonyBMG labels within the US (for the moment), along with track listings and in some cases audio clips (which will become more robust in the new year). Ecommerce links are provided inobtrusively.
I have been informed that it creates a conflict of interest to post these links directly from my account, so please consider adding the page to the link section. Thanks.

Someone has put back in the unsourced Joe Farrell remark I deleted, this time with a dead link in support of it. It's coming out. S. M. Sullivan 03:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
I fixed the link to the album Like Minds, because it redirected to the movie of the same name. Jollyjoegiant 01:56, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
The second paragraph has a distorted comparison with Mahevishnu Orchestra. While Chick did place more emphasis on synthesizers, the Mahevishnu Orchestra far from shunned virtuosity. A lot of Mahevishnu tracks are little other than long John McLaughlin solos, where he played mostly fast notes. You understate your case significantly, both in what you mention, and how you state it. McLaughlin was not only fast, but, more importantly, versitile. Fast could refer to heavy metal power note shreds. McLaughlin is considered by many to be 1 of the best guitarists who ever lived, period. Should be changed.
Not all coreas output is hubbard/scientology related (@ least not directly). I know for certain that First He Cries, then He Sings refers to a line from the I-Ching. Thaddeus Slamp 19:17, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Why doesn't the discography mention the 1993 CD "Best of Chick Corea"? [http://www.amazon.com/Best-Chick-Corea/dp/B000005HDZ] Enk 22:02, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
The discography has been reinstated as the seperate discography page is a shoddy,woefully-incomplete page Paul210 18:07, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
In 1967 Chick Corea played on Cuban Roots, a cuban/jazz instrumental experiment put together by Mark Weinstein. Due to a personal dispute the record company sunk the album and only 500 copies were made. A few years ago a Japanese company bought the master tapes and reissued the album on CD. Its a great album and has enjoyed a successful second life. The album focuses on horns and drums, but Corea's piano playing on the album is phenomenal. I think the album is worth mentioning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.106.194.122 ( talk) 22:21, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
got lost in Chelsea learned something, lol.
This article needs major referencing and POV improvements. There are unsourced, direct quotations from BLPs. There are unsourced, POV assertions, given as if they were facts (and in some cases blatantly inaccurate) lacking citations. There is inaccurate info, such as "due to be released in August 2009...". -- Cirt ( talk) 17:30, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Trimmed down size of external links sect. The above links might be useful in the future, to incorporate directly into the article, as sources. -- Cirt ( talk) 17:56, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Seriously guys, how the heck is Chick Corea's Wikipidia article rated in the "b class" of importance. If anything, his article should be high priority. He should be in the a class. And why the heck is he in class b for Latin American articles??!?!?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sprecher ( talk • contribs) 04:09, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

This article implies that Corea worked with Lil Wayne ten years before Lil Wayne was born. There is a tacked on sentence that may be spam mentioning Jay-Z as well. Jwhester ( talk) 03:36, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
I suggest that the link: "Verve Records Archived October 13, 2007 at the Wayback Machine" go straight to the URL to which it redirects: http://vervemusicgroup.com/chickcorea. Can I make the change, or can someone do it? Thanks. Matipop ( talk) 23:43, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Can someone please change his photo I don't think it represents how people see chick Corea now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.193.122.12 ( talk) 15:14, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Agreed. That's a godawful photo. I saw him in concert the other day and he looks nothing like this anymore. - timothyapetty — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.243.129.143 ( talk) 21:31, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

I tagged this for a Reliable Source; also 1972 seems far too early - in 1976, Al DiMeola and Lenny White both said Moran was Corea's "girlfriend", not wife. I've read elsewhere they met some time after she had joined John McLaughlin's band, which was around 1974. 104.169.45.63 ( talk) 11:47, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
I propose that
Chick Corea Elektric Band be merged into
Chick Corea. The former has been unsourced since 2009, and that's plenty of time to realize it isn't going anywhere. It's unnecessary to have separate articles for all the bands a jazz musician forms or belongs to.

G41rn8, RandomGnome and TanookiKoopa: you all rejected the idea of merging, yet the article remains unsourced. Are you going to add some sources? (They should be easy to find at the moment.) EddieHugh ( talk) 19:47, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, TanookiKoopa (I said I'd both add sources and clean it up – i.e. get rid of the rest). RandomGnome: how long do you think it's ok to leave an article with no sources and with an embarrassing template at the top? More than 11 years? There's only one person I know who's done more than I have to reduce the jazz project's backlog in the last few years, and that's Vmavanti, who proposed the merge here. It would be good to get more people actively involved in that, and the people who supported keeping this as a separate article seem like a logical place to start. EddieHugh ( talk) 12:42, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
The text on his early professional career isn't perhaps as complete as it might be. In early 1962 it was reported that Chick was performing with the George Bright Quintet. I have included details in my post here, I'll leave those of you more familiar with Chick/Wikipedia to decide if a change is warranted. Yes, should have signed the above comment, my apologies. I can provide direct links to sources if needed. Cathcam ( talk) 20:52, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Why did someone add the "People of Sicilian descent" category when the article doesn't say Corea has Sicilian heritage? What is the source for this? 173.88.246.138 ( talk) 05:11, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
