The first model of the Sonic (Barina) was sold with a 4 speed automatic in Australia/NZ. https://www.carsguide.com.au/holden/barina/price/2012. 101.178.163.92 ( talk) 03:28, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Despite a description of the derivation of the name Kalos, no explanation is given of the derivation of Aveo, even though it too has a classical meaning. Does anyone know where it comes from? Rwflammang ( talk) 23:53, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
The Chevrolet Aveo won't have a second generation. This is the last model year of it. The Chevrolet Sonic will be out next year, not the Aveo. 68.37.41.158 ( talk) 15:16, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
I suggest the article gets split into a Chevrolet Aveo (T200) article and a Chevrolet Sonic/second-generation Aveo (T300) article similar to how the T100 has it's own article. Also because the T300 doesn't share platforms with the T100, T200 or T250. 74.218.82.179 ( talk) 20:07, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Actually the Sonic and Aveo do have some minor differences, here's an article depicting the differences. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1052455_spotters-guide-2012-chevrolet-sonic-vs-chevy-aveo Matthew Cantrell ( talk) 19:24, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
We had the Daewoo Lanos from 98-02, the Dae/Chev Kalos from 02-08, and now the Chev Aveo since 2008> Can someone please state this in the article. Thanks Jenova 20 08:57, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
This sentence is very confusing:
The second generation Aveo debuted in January 2011, marketed globally as the Chevrolet Aveo;[2][3] in North America, the Middle East, Chile, Israel, Japan, Mexico, and South Africa[4] as the Chevrolet Sonic;[5] and in Australasia as the Holden Barina.
It seems to state that the name "Aveo" is used "globally" except in North America, the Middle East, Chile, Israel, Japan, Mexico, and South Africa where the name is "Sonic". Or it is saying Aveo is used in the listed countries and "Sonic" is left dangling... The only part that is actually both clear and correct is that "Holden Barina" is the Australasian name. I'm South African and I own a Chevrolet Aveo - no other name has ever been used here. We need to rewrite that sentence (preferably split it into three completely separate sentences) to sort out exactly where the "Sonic" name really is used. "Aveo" seems to be the most widely used name. Roger (Dodger67) ( talk) 21:08, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
