The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that forward air control operations established by Charles Larimore Jones dropped over two million tons of bombs on the Kingdom of Laos? This article is written in American English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, defense, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Although holding a relatively junior rank, Jones is notable under WP:SOLDIER for three reasons:

1. He played an important part in the Laotian Civil War;
2. Made an important contribution to military science by propagating pioneering forward air control procedures in both the Vietnam War and the Laotian Civil War;
3. And he authored, and had translated into Lao and Thai, the USAF Field Manual on forward air control.

WP:Further reading sections are technically permitted and this one wasn't bad but they're generally a mistake. Unless Mr Dorner is going to hang around a curate the page, we generally don't have other experts who do and they can tend to bloat unhelpfully. Besides, anyone looking for more information on the Laotian conflict in general wouldn't look for these books. They'd look at our Laotian war articles. So at least my vote is to either move these books to those pages for inclusion in a #Further reading section there or to reïnclude them here as they're used to verify facts in Mr Jones's own article.

I included the Further reading section because the books listed have NO direct references to the article, but can shed light on the complex secretive Laotian Civil War which remains little known. Contrary to the insinuations above, Charlie Jones is most noted for his service in Laos, and the Further reading section supplies background to his activities there.
