Chand Kaur was responsible for keeping her husband away from power and started Sikh Feud. She made her husband a defacto powerless king while her own sons were killed (most probably) under Roshnai Gate. She was aide of Dogra Kings because her Haveli was very near to their's. How does Chand Kaur became regent?
I think Chand Kaur was never a Regent for Sher Singh. She should be treated as an independent Empress/Maharani. Sher Singh was against her and captured power from her. So, Chand Kaur's name should be added to the template {{Sikh Empire}} in the section of Rulers. --

a good point. I think that in her case 'Maharani' signifies the wife of a Maharaja, not a woman holding the rank of Empress. But imo she should still be recorded in the template, as she (very briefly) filled the gap between Nau Nihal Singh and Sher Singh. I have changed the title in the template to 'Regent', but if you still feel that is wrong, please change it. The difference in Jind Kaur's case is that Duleep Singh had been proclaimed as Maharaja.

oh dear. I've read the article again and found the sentence "On 2 December 1840 Chand Kaur was proclaimed Maharani of the Punjab, with the title Malika Muqaddasa, Empress Immaculate", supported by a citation. Maybe I should restore the template to status quo ante.
