The reference to the Carpenter Snow Creek Mining district probably points the wrong area.

There was a Carpenter Creek post office in Musselshell county in 1916 https://www.google.com/books/edition/United_States_Official_Postal_Guide/sp8iAQAAIAAJ pg268
