According to Wikipedia's Manual of Style "editors should write articles using straightforward, succinct, easily understood language and structure articles with consistent, reader-friendly layouts and formatting." This article is fairly accurate, but does suffer from a lack of succinctness. This is especially true with the section Crisis in New France. Doubtful that almost 1000 words are needed to explain why the Carignan-Salières Regiment was sent to the colony in 1665. Due to the age of the article many of the citations link to sources that are no longer available.

The regiment only carried two flags, and they were both Colonel's flags; one from the Carignan Regiment and on one from the Salières Regiments, since the combined regiment had two (!) Colonel companies. Creuzbourg ( talk) 10:29, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
The recently added list of obscure battles outlining the early history of the regiment before 1659 has been condensed. The source, Histoire de l'Ancienne Infanterie Francais, must be treated with caution since it was published in 1851 and makes some dubious claims. Verney's The Good Regiment is a far more reliable source about how the Carignan-Salières Regiment was formed. Griffin's Sword ( talk) 11:39, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
