In the article on CFB Chatham WP says "In 1959, RCAF Station Chatham saw the air force's Golden Hawks aerobatic team stationed at the base - this being the predecessor to the Snowbirds. The Golden Hawks were relocated to RCAF Station Trenton in 1962." From this one would assume that the Team had been moved to Chatham from somewhere else. As a lifetime resident of Chatham - I certainly know that several newspaper articles (from that time period and later) stated emphatically that the Golden Hawks Aerobatic Display Team members were selected from the members of "STU" (the Sabre Transition Unit) stationed at RCAF Station Chatham. [The Sabres at RCAF Stn Chatham had been transferred there from Bases in Europe and assigned to the STU.]
When the "Hawks" were doing their practices, I would frequentl;y beout by the side of Highway 11 (beside the Airfield) on my bicycle watching in amazement.
I would hope that at sometime in the future, this article could be edited to reflect the fact that the Golden Hawks originated at RCAF Stn Chatham.
This, by the way, is my first post here ... so I am definitely a "newbie".
P.S.: I was a member of #597 Chatham Air Cadet Sqdn in my teens and went on to be an Officer with the Sqdn and eventually was the Squadron's Commanding Officer when I stepped down. Since we were so close to the Airbase, I picked up a lot of information regarding RCAF Stn/CFB Chatham, the Golden Hawks, 416 Sqdn and our local Militia Unit # 2 RNBR (Royal NB Regiment - 2nd Battalion (and its predecessor, "The North Shore Regiment" (which my father served in during WW2).

Fred: Thanks for the info. This article has only one reference, which I added some time ago, and the rest could very well be completely wrong. Lacking any suitable refs I have tagged most of it. If we can find refs we can fix up the inaccuracies, otherwise as you have illustrated above, text that is not referenced should probably be removed rather than state things that are wrong, unsourced or at best
original research. -

Okay since a week has passed without any objections I will removed the unsourced text. Any or all of it can be added back in when refs are found. -
