Hello Hekerui. Thanks. Agree that that is normally the case. And normally, refs and ELs in articles that I work on are not both. However, for what I believe are very good reasons, the guideline makes clear that it is not an absolute. For example, it says: "These hyperlinks normally should not appear in the article's body text, nor should they appear in this section if they already appear in the References or Notes section." The reasons for this, I've learned from discussion with others, is that there are instances outside the norm where -- per editor good judgment -- it would appear to be appropriate. Where my judgment (hopefully good) suggests that the non-normal exception should be invoked, I invoke it. That said, in the normal course, I totally agree.--
