Referring to the image which reads "A buprestid from Atherton, Queensland (Australia)." Unless I am wrong, that blue insect shown in the gallery is actually a bug (Heteroptera), not a beetle. It should be removed. Sigil VII ( talk) 02:19, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
I have just added a photo of a jewel beetle taken earlier this month in Atherton, Queensland, Australia. I wonder if anyone could identify it for me please. (Feel free to add the identification to the image if you are sure of it). Many thanks, John Hill ( talk) 22:57, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
I believe it's a Cotton Harlequin Bug (Tectocoris diophthalmus, Family Scutelleridae) http://www.austmus.gov.au/factSheets/true_bugs.htm Although it isn't a buprestid, they are still really cool looking; I wish we had them in the US :D JimtheEvil ( talk) 10:42, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello @ Dyanega & @ MightyWarrior: The edit appears correct to me. This is Buprestidae not Buprestinae. Invasive Spices ( talk) 17:43, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
