At the moment, this article lists nominees from 2004 and 2005, and winners from 2004. If anyone has the time and inclination to update this (the 2009 nominations were just announced), as well as to list nominees and winners from earlier in the award's history, that would be great. A listing of past award recipients is here. — Josiah Rowe ( talk • contribs) 21:47, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
I've added 06, 07 and 08 to the list but I could only find the winners. Also I went a little nuts with the citations so if someone wants to consolidate it in to a single global refrence it might be a good idea. -- Elfwood ( talk) 15:12, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
The BFS link has been changed. Currently you can get the list of winners at http://www.britishfantasysociety.co.uk/british-fantasy-awards/the-british-fantasy-awards-a-short-history/
The 2012 Categories are, I believe, different than what is indicated in intro.
I have cut and pasted the following from the BFS site, but I do not know what to do about the copyright issues.

"the Karl Edward Wagner Award is given at the discretion of the BFS committee."
What does the KEW recognize? eg, outstanding service to the Society?

It can, but also service to the genre of fantasy. Here's the description from the awards constitution ( http://www.britishfantasysociety.org/the-british-fantasy-awards-constitution-ii/):
"The British Fantasy Special Award is known as the Karl Edward Wagner Award. The Award may be presented to individuals or organisations. Eligibility: this Award is not necessarily restricted to an activity in the year prior to that in which the Award is presented. The Award may go to someone who has made an important contribution to the genre or the Society throughout his/her lifetime; or it may go to the organisers of a special event or publication that took place in the relevant year. Recommendations for this Award will be sought from the membership. *The BFS Committee will determine the winner of this award."

Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on

I've added the last few years in imitation of the BFS web pages. One thing that I did find annoying me as I did so was that the order of awards seems to change all the time (on the source), making it harder to find the one you're looking for. Is there an objective right order? Probably not. But if I were to impose some standardisation, would anyone object?
Suggest Fantasy novel, Horror Novel, novella, short fiction, anthology, collection, non fiction, newcomer (so grouping the writing awards together), peroidical, imprint, artist, comic, film, KEW. Nickpheas ( talk) 12:41, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
