Perhaps we should point out, the position of President of the Toronto Maple Leafs was re-created, for Burke. The post had been abolished since it was stripped from Ken Dryden. -- GoodDay ( talk) 00:19, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
In the personal section the death of his son should be mentioned with the annotation that the death instantly put the scandalous loss by the maple leafs against the new jersey devils in its place and empasized the triviality of sport and the drama. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.114.216.255 ( talk) 06:37, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
As an (ex-)Whalers fan, I was surprised to see his departure from the Whalers described as a firing. He was a very popular GM during his brief tenure with the team, and the reaction to his leaving for the NHL position was disappointment. Sure enough, the New York Times backs me up, referring to him as the sitting Whalers GM. -- Dbls ( talk) 18:08, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Can we PLEASE wait until the team's official website posts a firing or hiring, etc etc? beforing making additions and/or deletions? GoodDay ( talk) 18:43, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
There is a clear and obvious bias in this article. The section on criticism, especially where Ron Wilson is mentioned is unwarranted and unprofessional. As I understand it Wikipedia should list factual details of history and response by others within the article without editorialization of the article itself. This section reads more like remarks from an angry Leafs fan than of an unbiased individual. It seems more like an essay proving Burke is a hypocrite or a liar rather than stating simply something to the effect of "Brian Burke offered Ron Wilson a contract extension worth X amount. A short time later, after mounting losses, Brian Burke released Ron Wilson as head coach."
Extra slant is not needed.-- Jeffware87 ( talk) 03:24, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
My reason for not naming the reporter is that it's irrelevant to the reason for Burke's lawsuit. Naming her only serves to spread the rumour and add to the damage. Wikipedia is not a blog or a tabloid. BashBrannigan ( talk) 05:09, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
