I have merged the Bishop of Ely, England (Catholic) article into this one. aliceinlampyland 18:32, 2 February 2006 (UTC).
After reading this article I see little reason for NPOV considerations, as long as we assume good faith in the facts presented. I removed a couple of subjective words, but these were minor -- Kevin Murray 21:27, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
A children's account of Robin Hood that I read when I was little stated that the Bishop of Ely was supposed to be the regent while Richard was away. Is there any historical backing for this part of the story? Nyttend ( talk) 02:13, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I have noted an inaccuracy in this list, which may mean some of the other periods in office are incorrect. The list clearly shows Bishop William Longchamp as being in office until 1198, which is kind of difficult since he died the year before. The other dates follow on from this one, and may also be wrong. I have spoken this evening to the Chief Archivist for the Diocese of Ely, Dr. Peter Meadows, who is based at the University Library in West Road, Cambridge. He is going to prepare a list of the Bishops of Ely from 1100 onwards, and forward it to me by either email or regular post, so that these dates may be verified.
