I work on the product management team for Bing. Just edited this entry to bring it up to date with our current product line. Ideally this article would be renamed to "Bing for mobile." We'll look at creating a separate entry from scratch as suggested below. Shelmac ( talk) 20:30, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
This article has been changed to Bing Mobile. I reverted the edits because Bing Mobile is a separate application (as of now at least). Suggestion is to make a separate article for Bing Mobile from scratch as it appears to differ a lot from Live Search Mobile. As of present, Bing Mobile appears to be a small "browser-like" version that does not have the same features as Live Search Mobile. I have not found any information of a merge of the two applications either. Rasmasyean ( talk) 04:15, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, whatever it claims...it has NOT been done. Wikipedia is not for guessing the state of future transformations of current applications. You can perhaps make an article that describes software not released yet...like Windows 7, but as of present, Live Search Mobile still exists in it's current form. Besides, none of the features listed on the article other than the "web" part are in Bing Mobile (which I've provided some updates for). Live Search Mobile is not just a "search engine" like Bing Mobile. It's part of the Windows Live Services applications. By the same reasoning, you can't just change all Windows Live pages to Windows Bing...until it happens (if it actually does). What you can do is create a new Bing Mobile article and have a link to Live Search Mobile saying that a new version will be created that will merge/replace Live Search Mobile. And, also I have a phone and just personally updated it and it doesn't turn into "Bing Search Mobile". The "globe" opens a browser to m.bing.com, but that's about it. My "disruptive edit" is a result of once not knowing how to use the edit tools a long time ago. Have it your way. If the application does not become "Bing Mobile" in 1 week, it goes back to "Live Search Mobile" until a release. Regardless of what that site says will happen, you are wrong in that this application is titled "Bing Mobile". The proper way to maintain the article would be to have a note that Live Search Mobile is slated to become Bing Mobile and reference the site. You should know that as a Wikipedian. the iOS section needs to be edited. Nowhere is the iPad included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.188.56.110 ( talk) 01:42, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
I've been looking for sources everywhere using regular Bing and Bing News, though using "Live Search" instead of "Bing" could help for the more historical parts of the article I still have trouble finding sources, and I know that I can't use this as a reference but it's probably one of the only sources I can find on the topic that isn't a primary source (which I avoid using as the plague). -- Hoang the Hoangest ( talk) 04:14, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
