Betty Blayton was born in Newport News, Virginia which was the location of the nearest Black hospital to Williamsburg, Virginia in 1937. She was not born in Williamsburg, Virginia. The family lived in Williamsburg, Virginia and she grew up there, but she was born in Newport News, Virginia and this fact is reflected in her death certificate (a copy of which can be provided as evidence - but I do not wish to publish it on Wikipedia).

Blayton, we have a policy that requires that what we write is verifiable,
WP:V. The source that we provide must be published somewhere. There is no requirement that such sources be easily available online, but a document that you have in your possession, but do not wish to publish is not acceptable. Is there a published source that can support the place of birth?

Blayton, I found a source that confirms that the correct place of birth is Newport News, Virginiahttps://www.askart.com/artist/artist/106966/artist.aspx. Since the incorrect claim wasn't sourced, and ought to have been removed, I've made the change.

On the Talk page Wiki has stated that I am Betty Blayton's sister, but I am her brother and the Executor of her Estate and in possession of most of her archival documents.

Betty Blayton was sometimes known as Betty Blayton Taylor, but principally known as Betty Blayton,
did not use a hyphen in her name when she used Betty Blayton Taylor. There were instances where
individuals mistakenly inserted a hyphen in her name, but you can find no instances where
she used a hyphen or where anyone who knew her well inserted a hyphen. The assumption by
GorilaWarfare on December 1, 2018 that her name was hyphenated is unwarranted, and not
based upon fact and the hyphen should be removed in this article. I am the Executor of her Estate and am well aware of how she spelled her name.
and as I said, you will not be able to find any instances where she used a hyphen in her name.
