This battle actually needs a little bit more notice. The King of England, caused this battle, for the cheap price of £20. He promised someone elses daughter, Muriel Calder, and the title to Scotland to the Campbells, if they would take the Calder's Heiress daughter, and keep her until marrying age, then marry her into the family. The document "by the Kings Gift", 01/16/1495, gives the daughter to the Campbells. The Campbells consider it so important, they lost 6 to 8 sons escaping with the girl. And perhaps they were right. Thus, generations of Campbell nobles was started with a kidnapping.
