article needs more citations and references. Kpstewart ( talk) 05:49, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Where does it need more citations and references? Rokickis ( talk) 04:57, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
I actually agree after re-reading the page a couple more times. The history section needs the most citations/references. Most of the information is true, it just needs to be backed up by a citation. Rokickis ( talk) 04:33, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
I recently removed the following picture and caption from the article:
As lovely as this cat appears to be, there is a better image already in the article as well as a link to Commons. The image I removed could probably be added to the other Balinese at Commons. The problem I see is threefold:
The picture has been returned to the page for which it was intended.
1. Most people will comment on the attractiveness of what they see and the comments usually given to the Lilac Balinese (not unlike comments given to the Russian Blue) are admiring of the color.
2. Not every one is a professional photographer and many supporting images in Wikipedia are not taken in professional settings. Unless and until such standards are applied across the board at Wikipedia, clear images which have a valid application for the subject matter should not be discriminated against.
3. The image submitted is the only one actually on the article page to show what Lilac point coloration really is. —Preceding

I want a different picture of the cat because, while it is a nice picture, it is difficult to see the cat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.168.172.180 ( talk) 19:40, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
I own a 2-year old Balinese, whom I raised from a kitten myself... She is definitely very loving toward *me*, however she does not like other human companionship at all, and will run and hide the whole day if a single person comes over. She also meows constantly. While I find this cute, and try to draw her attention toward me when she gets obsessed... some of my neighbors have had complaints! I find that mine is a very obsessive little creature, also I guess this behavior may be due to the fact that she's the runt... or at least hasn't started to look like her lankier cousins, though she's no less agile (and she is most certainly 100% pure Balinese). Just pointing out this variation in behavior, maybe suggesting a little less 'certain' language in the temperament section. 173.23.250.185 ( talk) 17:48, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (
commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Excuse me? What does this have to do with a breed of cat? So the cat appeared in a bad, CGI American movie? I think this beyond trivial and the person who undid this content is seriously overreacting. If anything this reference to a Balinese cat should be on the page for the movie and nowhere else. Hello -- I was poking about the page history prior to attempting a rewrite, and noticed that there's been quite a bit of dispute about the proper tone and content of the article recently. I've been making something of a (solo) project to clean up the cat breed articles recently, introducing an extensive copyedit, some standardised formatting, and hopefully a more neutral, objectively encyclopedic tone overall (I love cats unabashedly but do not breed, show or for that matter own any purebreds).
Examples: Abyssinian cat, Burmese cat, Tonkinese cat, Birman.
I'm really hopeful that any changes I do make will be acceptable to the active editors here, and of course will be open to any suggestions. Thanking you all greatly in advance, Shoebox2 talk 22:49, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on

My goal is to add more citations to this page, and make it great as Maine Coon. If you see anything that you disagree with, please tell me! I don't mind rephrasing it, or correcting it! Otherwise you can correct it too! I'm having some troubles figuring out how to add more to health problems for the Balinese, since it's such a new breed. Please if you got the time, help me since I'm still new at this! I will try to do my best to make this a good page! Anyway, have fun editing! ~ [User: Rokickis]
