What stations fell off the air when this happened?
The BBC's new virtual local radio station system caused 18 stations to fall off air on Friday.
Faults with the broadcaster's ViLoR system on Friday morning forced 18 local stations including BBC Radio Derby, Leicester and Suffolk off-air, with affected stations defaulting to a relay of BBC Radio 5 Live. A back-up system was in place by late morning allowing stations back on-air on FM and DAB, but web streams and Freeview continued to experience problems for longer.
Branding of BBC Local Radio stations in England
i have noticed that with the newer logos of BBC Local Radio in England, the stations seem to be styled without 'Radio' in the title e.g. BBC Manchester instead of BBC Radio Manchester, and it is reflective of this on the BBC Local Radio pages on the BBC website, should the pages be altered to reflect this?,

Well, there seems to be no clear answer to that. While it is true that some of the BBC LR stations do not have the word "radio" in their titles, and that many of the BBC's website pages do not use the word on pages that refer to stations that DO, nevertheless, have "radio" in their names, I suspect that the latter phenomenon is probably more a question of central corporate web-styling than anything else, since the majority of BBC LR stations continue to be known as "BBC Radio (place)". I've just spent a couple of hours listening to all 40 of them, and I list below how they each announce themselves on air as of December 2010. --
