The correct hebrew pronounciatin is Avraham. 'Avram' is a nickname. This article is better placed under the correct name - Avraham Grant. Rzg 15:57, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
That does it. Move it over the redirect at Avram Grant. Or I can if you prefer. -- Dweller 11:00, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
He is referred to in both ways, in Hebrew Avraham gets more results on google but when spoken he's usually referred to as Avram. Yonatan talk 12:51, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Do the privacy laws regarding Avram Grant's alleged indiscretions requiring anonymity in UK based newspapers apply to this article, as the wikipedia servers are based in the Netherlands and the USA? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.42.158 ( talk) 22:28, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
It seems that UK privacy laws apply in other countries too - after all, this is why people such as Tiger Woods and others use the court in London to apply for them. The UK is well known as allowing any Tom, Dick and Harry to muzzle the press. 217.24.73.87 ( talk) 23:48, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
It is completely unfair that the edit was taken down. This censorship is like Nazi Germany. In the the UK there is also the freedom of information act which states that anyone can access anything if they want to. These celebrities shouldn't be treated better than the general public. He was unfaithful to his wife and brothels are illegal. He should be named and shamed. To not openly declare that it was him only increases speculation, and rumours of things that are much worse will be created. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.29.223 ( talk) 02:56, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
77.31.73.172 please do not amend the first name in this fashion again, it is rude. Dean Armond 09:03, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
The name "Grant" is usually common in English-speaking countries, and not among the Jewish communities. Grant's real last name should be pronounced "Granat" (i.e. A pommegranate), however in hebrew scripture there are no vowels, therefore the external writing of his last name (גרנט) is identical to "Grant", and settled down in the media as such. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.118.48.248 ( talk) 11:35, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
In the Israel section I included the FC Haka incident that lead to disqualification from the UEFA Champions League competition as it is a significant event in the career of Avram Grant. Dean Armond 11:45, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
In the Israeli national team section I included the UEFA Euro 2004 qualifying round campaign. Dean Armond 12:09, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
I've removed a sentence:
"...after not taking part in Chelsea's preparations for the match in order to observe the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur."
since the source made no mention of that at all. Goldbringer 18:06, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it is useful or necessary to continually update Grant's tenure in Chelsea, game by game. This would be, most probably, counter-productive. Besides, there is an appropriate entry for this and it's about Chelsea FC.- The Gnome ( talk) 22:29, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

"...becoming the first Zionist to manage an engilsh football club." Is there any evidence for Grant being a Zionist (as distinct from an Israeli)? And how do we know that no previous manager held Zionist views? Or is this just a codified euphemism to alert us to the fact (shock! horror!) that Grant is Israeli and/or Jewish? OMG, he's Jewish (shock!horror!) !! OMG, how could he lost the cups!!!! Jewish are supposedly invincible!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.161.66.137 ( talk) 03:05, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
I've added the nickname of the Toad for Avram as he is called that by fans and pundits. 77.99.186.110 ( talk) 17:24, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Does he have only a son or a son an a daugther ? (i think the article is wrong) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.219.142.146 ( talk) 17:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
"Most of his father's family were murdered during the Holocaust and died in Kolyma.[16]" . This does not make sense, the Holocaust involved Nazi activity in Europe, the reference to the deportation from Poland to the Soviet Union was conducted by the Soviet secret police. His fathers family died in Kolyma, Siberia so they were not murdered in the Holocaust. Are there any objections if I remove the mention of the Holocaust? Dean Armond 16:38, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
I edited Grant's statistics as they said 3 losses rather than 2 [4] [5]
JAStewart ( talk) 10:07, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
It's official, we can now mention the Horton Heath claim that led to the article being semi-protected in December 2009. It should be pointed out that since this matter is the subject of an ongoing police investigation, no statements can be made in the article implying Grant's guilt or innocence.-- ♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 11:44, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
{{ edit semi-protected}} just think that it needs updated to mention poor Avram's had yet another premiership mishap and has resulted in the relegation of West Ham Utd, this may also spell the end of his very short tenure at the club.

change ((Polish)) to ((Poland|Polish))
Partly done - I agree it should not link to
Polish, which is a disambiguation page, but have linked it to
Poles, the people, rather than
Poland, the country. -
