Mach 27 is faster than LEO orbital velocity. So even most re-entry vehicles do not move at Mach 27. Furthermore, even the Mach 25 of orbiting vehicles is rapidly reduced when entering deep into the atmosphere as the Avangard must do during approach to target.

Inconsistent spelling within article
The current article text uses at least two different spellings for the "United States of America", to wit: "US" and "U.S." I propose fixing it to "US".
