What the f*ck is "lakh"?? What the f*ck is "crore"?? Write English in the English wiki!!! And what is "2,00,000" meant to be?? 2,000,000? EminEd
American English isn't the only form of English on earth. Lakh and Crore should be left in (for the uninformed, lakh=1,00,000 and crore=1,00,00,000, and that is a perfectly acceptable way of writing numbers.
No, American English SURE is not the only form of English on earth, but we need a common standard here in the Wikipedia, and British English / American English happens to be the oldest and most widespread versions of English; THEY are the ones most widely taught at schools, and understood by many peoples all over the world. And it does not help WP and the vast majority of folks along if nationalist nuts insist on dubbing their local pidgin here! By the way, I am NOT american; not even a native English speaker - but the more do I depend on speech according to the accepted standards: regional BS of standard-breaking eccentric chauvinists makes my life - and the lives of billions - more difficult, and completely unnecesssarily!! If you must, go ahead and found a wikipedia in your local dialect, together with others who are fond of that; you're free to do so (and use a numbers notation system with basis 13, go ahead, I don't care) - but here, stick to the linguistic conventions!!
The tables for 2-3 wheeler production can be added in a different table in addition to the original table. Too many columns make the data appear confusing and difficult to read and comprehend. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Svmandke ( talk • contribs) 03:42, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
There's nothing in this article about the Indian fiscal ruling limiting a specific class of vehicles to 4 metres in length and 1.2 litre engines. I'd like to know more about it. -- Pc13 ( talk) 19:42, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
The entire article is far too long, and should be shortened. It's also quite boring; as i read through the article, i realised that i was no longer taking in any information - my eyes were just gliding over the words. A disappointing read. Bmuni ( talk) 05:11, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
The article states that in 2010 there were 40m cars in India. However, the Economic Survey 2010-11, part of the Indian Union budget, quotes the 2005 figure of 89.6m registered vehicles (Statistical tables here: http://exim.indiamart.com/economic-survey10-11/, search for registered vehicles). I'm probably missing something, but if anyone with more clue than me could have a look??
Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.98.116 ( talk) 10:22, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

This large contribution in April 2011 introduced a quantity of clear copyright violating material to the article. I have removed some of the obvious WP:COPYVIO material, but a lot remains. Anyone care to address it?

Automotive industry refers to the manufacture of motor vehicles of all kinds, regardless of if they have two wheels, three wheels or four wheels, so stop treating this article as if it's only about cars/automobiles. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 18:27, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

The very introduction to the article claims that the content is written like an advertisement. This statement is wholly unsupported by the article, which mentions dozens of brands and companies. Article is way too big. Please split it into the following separate articlesL
Note: Also move some of the "see also" items from the current article to new articles/lists.
Thanks. 58.182.176.169 ( talk) 10:24, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
Yes, Johannes Maximilian, I agree with you. I have modified the split template and the proposal accordingly that all manufacturers should be put into one article. Thanks for the suggestion and support. Since I am an IP, I can not split (long term Ip "by choice", do not wish to register as user). Please go ahead and split it. I will then do the clean up, e.g. summarise those articles into here. Thanks. 58.182.176.169 ( talk) 11:22, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
