Update the intro to have pictures of the thyroid and the other names of the condition
Add epidemiology section
Update signs and symptoms. Add pictures of the goiter, myxedema and any diagrams that show the whole body and how it is affected
Combine the causes and mechanism categories. Existing causes listed should be changed to associations for the title and can be their own subcategory. Add more to the section
Table of antibodies in mechanism to summarize if possible. Add pictures of pathology
Diagnosis - Reword the paragraph for easier readability. Update the category and potentially add a flow chart with the diagnostic steps
Treatment - add the full spectrum of drugs such as triiodothyronine with descriptions. And side effects of medications
Add a section under treatment for follow-up monitoring of TSH levels after initiation of therapy
Review for readability and change language away from doctor-speak when appropriate
You did a great job of improving this article. You started with a well-organized work plan and accomplished almost every item on your list. The pictures and sections you added have made the article a lot more informative, and I feel that you’ve managed to maintain good readability for a general audience without too much medical jargon. You used quality up-to-date secondary sources for the added information and the links to citations are working. The overall narrative appears to be neutral without any distracting information.
Peer recommendations:
1) You mentioned potentially adding a table of antibodies to the mechanism section of the article. This could add even more visual appeal to the article, but I don’t think it would be completely necessary because the antibodies are summarized well in the paragraph.
2) You considered adding a flowchart to the diagnosis section in your work plan. This could likewise present information in a visually interesting way, but the diagnosis section would still be informative without it.
Considering the importance of the topic, I think your efforts have had a strongly positive impact on the article. Excellent job!
