This article is just a list of schools and superintendents and a tiny bit of other information. Though the lists are quite long, this article is still no better than a stub. The Jacobin ( talk) 15:03, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
I'm moving a big block of text about Mills Elementary School from the article to this page. The text imparts no particular understanding of AISD (the topic of this article) and is jarringly out of place in this article. This information could go into an article about Mills Elementary School, if that school were judged to be notable enough to merit its own article; otherwise, it probably belongs in some sort of survey article along the lines of "Austin-area elementary schools" with corresponding summary entries for other similar schools (or else nowhere). For now, the content is moved below:

Although this article does provide an extensive and current list of the schools within this district and the Superintendents, it does not give much history or depth about the organization and the daily duties it performs. A significant and historical event that could be touched on is the de-segregation of schools in the 1950s and 1960s which is pertinent to the state of the educational landscape in Austin. One could also attend a school district meeting and observe the activities there for some background on the duties of the Superintendent and the other workers at the school district. The current version of the page includes some non-neutral wording , specifically the word "remarkable" being used to describe a testimony. There seems to be some disagreements regarding the last few sentences of the first paragraph ( here, here, and here). For now, I'm going to remove the bias in the description of the board meeting.
I think that public controversy over closings of schools should definitely be included in this article. However, I think it would be better suited to Demographics or a new section. If there are no objections, I'll move this to Demographics. Thanks! Ombra serena ( talk) 10:55, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
From this letter to a columnist from a writer known as "Taxpayer":
Delay in moving out of the old Austin school district headquarters has already cost the district $180,000.- Clip from Newspapers.com
I'd like to find an actual article from a Statesman staff which confirms this... WhisperToMe ( talk) 04:34, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
