Redrafting

I have re-edited this article, removing a large section that simply quoted from a book review and replacing it with a biographical overview based on the NYT obituary. The list of his works still needs to be filled out and cleaned up. 850 C ( talk) 15:40, 19 March 2014 (UTC) reply
