We should have an article on every pyramid and every nome in Ancient Egypt. I'm sure the rest of us can think of other articles we should have.
Cleanup.
To start with, most of the general history articles badly need attention. And I'm told that at least some of the dynasty articles need work. Any other candidates?
Standardize the Chronology.
A boring task, but the benefit of doing it is that you can set the dates !(e.g., why say Khufu lived 2589-2566? As long as you keep the length of his reign correct, or cite a respected source, you can date it 2590-2567 or 2585-2563)
Stub sorting
Anyone? I consider this probably the most unimportant of tasks on Wikipedia, but if you believe it needs to be done . . .
Data sorting.
This is a project I'd like to take on some day, & could be applied to more of Wikipedia than just Ancient Egypt. Take one of the standard authorities of history or culture -- Herotodus, the Elder Pliny, the writings of Breasted or Kenneth Kitchen, & see if you can't smoothly merge quotations or information into relevant articles. Probably a good exercise for someone who owns one of those impressive texts, yet can't get access to a research library.

Ref 27 is dead link.link and relating text removed
ref 17, 18, 24 are links to wikiprojects, which are not considered RS.
OR: "The theory further suggests that the daughter was pregnant with Artaxerxes' son, who is thought to be Alexander the Great.[38] This could be another explanation why Alexander adopted the Persian royal title of Shahanshah."
"(probably pronounced Uvasu)" needs ref.
"Throughout his reign, he continued a policy of terror." OR, contradiction to "Assert facts, including facts about opinions—but do not assert the opinions themselves." - NPOV policy.
"But Nectanebo II was deficient in generals, and over-confident in his own powers of command." OR
"These consisted of mixed troops, partly Greek and partly Egyptian; between whom jealousies and suspicions were easily sown by the Persian leaders, who by these means rapidly reduced the secondary cities of Lower Egypt, and were advancing upon Memphis, when Nectanebo in despair quit the country and fled southwards to Ethiopia." Too long
"Artaxerxes' victory in Egypt not only redeemed his former failure, but elevated himself in the opinions of men to the same level as Cyrus the Great, Cambyses II, and Darius the Great." OR
"Artaxerxes’ success in Egypt brought a new sense of revival to the empire. Neighbouring countries again realised the power and influence of the Persian Empire." OR
"Isocrates of Athens started his speeches calling for a ‘crusade against the barbarians’ " needs reference
"The Persian Empire was once again occupying its old borders and proving its ability to rule over a very large territory." personal POV, OR
"By the last year of Artaxerxes' rule Philip II already had plans for invasion of the Persian Empire, which would crown his career as world conqueror; But his propaganda did not deceive the Greeks who were well aware that this propaganda just a cloak for his future conquests" Not neutral
"It is thought by some that the Book of Judith could have been originally based on Artaxerxes' campaign in Phoenicia, as Holofernes was the name of the brother of the Cappadocian satrap Ariarathes, the vassal of Artaxerxes, and Bagoas, the general that finds Holofernes dead, was one of the generals of Artaxerxes during his campaign against Phoenicia and Egypt" Too long.
Good luck improving the article, especially on searching RS references and "Assert facts, including facts about opinions—but do not assert the opinions themselves."

What's the volume number for the Cambridge Ancient History citation?
Fuller web citations would be desirable. Listing author, title, publisher, and publication date information is a must for articles moving on to FAC. It's simply good practice. Check out {{Template:Cite web}} for an easy fill-in-the-blanks approach to web citations.

User:Antiquistik has been seamlessly linking non-English spellings such as Ὦχος Ἀρταξέρξης 𐎠𐎼𐎫𐎧𐏁𐏂𐎠 in the introduction to their Wikitionary definitions:
ὮχοςἈρταξέρξης𐎠𐎼𐎫𐎧𐏁𐏂𐎠[1]. It seems to me that these links are quite useful, unobtrusive, and encyclopedic, and that they are an additional service to our readers: we get etymological, philogical and lexical information rather than just strings of characters.

Thanks for the support, @
पाटलिपुत्र:. I have been adding these links precisely so the etymological, philogical and lexical information can be available to readers, and also to provide a closer look at these historical figures within their own social and cultural environment rather than through a solely Graeco-Roman perspective which sometimes failed to grasp all that context, and I hope my additions will be maintained so this information can be more easily available to anyone consulting Wikipedia.

Hi. What is of importance has already been explained in the etymology section. The unnecessary links make the article too blue and linky, and thus less visually appealing, if not more confusing for readers. Imo the quality of Wikipedia should be of more importance than that of attempting to link the Wikitionary. --
