Armi Jager military replicas have appeared as props in movies (the original "Dawn of the Dead" for instance). They were recommended for security use as less-lethal than a full-caliber firearm while appearing to be such (however I have found no documentation on their use as a deterrent). The primary interest appears to have been among collectors or military history buffs.
