I added the paragraph about the finding of Childeric's tomb. I don't think it requires a new section; at this point in history, antiquarian research/appreciation/etc. falls within the realm of patronage of the arts, there not yet being any independent discipline of archaeology, much less one organized on a scientific basis. Arguably, however, Leopold Wilhelm's publication of the find might be considered an early effort in that direction.
