So, now that the movie’s officially begun filming, can we make it a main page now? FilmLover72 ( talk) 20:33, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Request to add a new heading under the heading "Release" titled "Controversy". Add the Change.org petition with 4.46M signatures to remove Amber Heard from the cast.
I am requesting this in good faith and find it relevant and valid. Box office success of a movie does depend on likability of the actors, and a petition with more than 4M signature to remove an actor is a unique situation that is highly relevant to the film. An article dedicated to negative criticism of a topic is usually discouraged because it tends to be a point-of-view fork, which is generally prohibited by the neutral point-of-view policy. Likewise, the article structure must protect neutrality. Sections within an article dedicated to negative criticisms are normally also discouraged. Topical or thematic sections are frequently superior to sections devoted to criticism. Other than for articles about particular worldviews, philosophies or religious topics etc. where different considerations apply (see below), best practice is to incorporate positive and negative material into the same section. [...] In some situations the term "criticism" may be appropriate in an article or section title, for example, if there is a large body of critical material, and if independent secondary sources comment, analyze or discuss the critical material. Sections or article titles should generally not include the word "controversies". Instead, titles should simply name the event, for example, "2009 boycott" or "Hunting incident". The word "controversy" should not appear in the title except in the rare situations when it has become part of the commonly accepted name for the event, such as Creation–evolution controversy. Criticisms and controversies are two distinct concepts, and they should not be commingled. Criticisms are specific appraisals or assessments, whereas controversies are protracted public disputes. Thus, sections such as "Criticisms and controversies" are generally inappropriate.General criticisms and assessments of the work are noted in a "Reception" section, both inherently positive and negative, but those only come after release with what is from the film itself. This article has done a good job presenting the factual information from the most-reliable sources covering the matter surrounding (and this is the most important here) how the Heard-Depp trial and outcomes and major reactions to it impact this film's production as a result. As far as has been made aware by the producers and studio executives, the online petitions have not had any impact on this film, and there is no clear indication that any of these continuous trends will have an impact on the film, and as such, have not proved any rationale for being notable to mention as they are just online chatter and movements that are not as high-profile, unlike the Snyder Justice League campaign. We need sources stating how any of these would contextualize an impact on the film's production, and any sources saying how it could impact the release and the potential for an actor's screen time reduced or removed are all currently speculation and have not been confirmed to be an impact by reliable sources, periodicals, or the studios/filmmakers themselves. Heard's comments on her involvement are noted, representing the neutral views along with a mention of the petition at its start, but each update in trends is not notable to this article, or any Wikipedia article, in accordance with these guidelines. The listed cast in the article doesnt name Amber Heard but says "recast", but the source at the end of the sentence doesnt show that but quite the opposite. I know that there are for some time "petitions" online to remove her, but I have never read something official from Warner Brothers and as long as that isnt the case, the article should stay true to verifiable facts and name Amber Heard as Mera. It should not reflect opinions and rumors from fans as facts. ArtyomDE ( talk) 20:47, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
Aquila89 made the change without any sources [1] and it was not the correct figure so I changed it. [2] Danger Ashu 留 08:33, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Hello, I’ve noticed a potential discrepancy in the description of the character Kordax in this article. The current description suggests that Kordax is a composite character of the comics’ version of Kordax and Orin I. However, upon closer examination, it appears that the film’s version of Kordax more closely aligns with the comics’ Kordax and the Prime Earth’s Atlan, the Dead King. In the film, Kordax is depicted as the brother of King Atlan and the undead king of the lost kingdom of Necrus. This portrayal seems to draw more from the Prime Earth’s Atlan, who was the original king of Atlantis that sunk the city in grief and madness after his family was murdered by his brother Orin and later emerged as an undead adversary of Aquaman's. The confusion might stem, I think, from the complex nature of the characters’ histories and relationships in the comics. The Prime Earth continuity depicts Orin I as the ancestor of Aquaman and Orm, which diverges from the more common depiction of Atlan in that role, which is the depiction went with in these movies. I believe this is worth discussing and possibly revising for accuracy. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. RedMethyst ( talk) 02:26, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
Revealed by Orm to be the cursed brother of King Atlan, this confirms that the DCEU's Kordax is different from the comics' version. On the page, Kordax is a separate Aquaman villain, while Atlan's brother is named Orin." I'll look into if there are any better sources that pinpoint to the more accurate comics' versions and better reflect these differing versions and the basis of this version. Again, thank you for bringing this up to our attention. Trailblazer101 ( talk) 02:48, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
