Any direct reference for Ankylosaurus meaning "fused lizard" please? I thought (and still think its most likely origin) the first bit came from Ancient Greek
ἀγκύλος. The meaning "fused/fixed" in Medicine probably comes from the idea of a limb "fixed in a crooked position" but "crooked lizard" seems a more straightforward translation to me anyway. --
