What is there is reasonably well-written, but the article needs to be expanded. Most obviously, his assignment as Mary Queen of Scots's keeper is currently given a single sentence — despite the fact that this is one of the things he is most remembered for.  — AnnaKucsma   ( Talk to me!) 17:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC) reply

EL

I have removed the external link to genealogics. Under WP:ELNO #12: " Mirrors and forks of Wikipedia should not be linked." -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:20, 14 November 2010 (UTC) reply

And it has been restored. I have removed it again. If the website copies from us (as suggested by the conversation here and the link from it), it is a "fork", taking content from Wikipedia and developing it further. Forks may not be used as source or external links. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:40, 15 November 2010 (UTC) reply

Your presumption, which you made without any discussion, is wrong. Genealogics is not a fork, nor it is a copy of WP. The contents of genealogics are created from scratch for the most part. The fact that a few pages, may copy material here, does not make a site a fork. Do not remove this link, without discussion. Wjhonson ( talk) 00:30, 15 December 2010 (UTC) reply

It has been discussed. According to you, the very page to which this is linking has copied our content. That is flatly inappropriate under our policies, but I will invite additional review. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:33, 15 December 2010 (UTC) reply

You are presuming that because they copied the bio, that the page itself is a copy. That is false. The page at genealogics which includes the bio, is not a copy. It is a page of details, which also includes the bio. The bio portion of the page, that section of that page, is a copy. The page is not. Is that clear now? I have, as I said, invited additional review at WP:ELN. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:18, 15 December 2010 (UTC) reply
One would think that such links where there is a little uncertainly may be more appropriate for the talk page, and it may be useful to build those links here, rather than on the article page. billinghurst sDrewth 23:56, 15 December 2010 (UTC) reply
