Some of these are incorrect. If any one has an AC journal, there is a list at the back and it wld be good if our list was amended accordingly.

The
DNB article for Charles Edward Mathews. of 1912, has Charles Edward Mathews as president from 1878–80, and his brother William as president from 1869–71. The current DNB article, which is a revision of the old article, has the same dates. This information differs from the list here. I would repeat the comment above (of 12 years ago).

AtticTapestry I've moved this post to the bottom to avoid it being overlooked. My own climbing club (Oread MC) has a good set of AC Journals in its Welsh hut, but I'm unlikely to be able to access it for some considerable time. So am pinging @
ACLibrary: whose only edits to Wikipedia thus far have been to tweak some past president information. If they see this, and also want help adding in citations and in changing their username to something like ACLibraryNigel, or NigelACLib, (which better conforms with our policy of not having
user names implying shared use) I'd be only too happy to assist.

The list of presidents has been updated today, from an Alpine Club handbook – it agrees with the information from the DNB for William Matthews and Charles Matthews. I have added a wikilink but have left the spelling, although the surname is spelled Mathews in the DNB.
